Britannia and power wheelchairs

[Wheelchair Gaz]

Has any one who is a full time power wheelchair user been on the Britannia and could tell me if you can embark/disembark in your power chair?

I realise there may be some ports that I may not be able to get off.

I am also interested in any advice on getting around at the following ports.

 

Gibraltar

Cartagena

Palma, Majorca

Barcelona

Cadiz

Lisbon

Hi Gaz

My wife is a full time wheelie (Spectra + XTR2) and we have done most of the ports you mention. Firstly Britannia is a lovely ship but the lifts can be a nightmare at peak times. They forgot? to put in stairs at the front end so everyone uses the lifts. The accessible cabins are very spacious and there is loads of room for your chair.

Now onto the ports.

Gibraltar - Very accessible into and around town but unless you pre book an accessible taxi you won't get up to the Apes. Best place for Duty Free.

Cartegena - Struggling to remember this place although it must have been accessible.

Palma - Shuttle into town is accessible and lots of shops and things to do.

Barcelona - Again shuttle into town and its very flat (was an Olympic City). Watch out for pickpockets though.

Cadiz - Ports right in town but sightly hilly. If lucky you can get taxi to Seville or Jerez (horse riding school).

Lisbon - Shuttle depending on dock. Cobblestones and drop curbs are an issue but some great restaurants and don't miss sail in or away.

Shore excursions did try to accommodate trips better than usual but do some research before going.

Pick Pocket Gypsies are also very prevalent in Palma De Majorca particularly around the Cathedral.
