Hi. I'm Tosha. This is my first review. This is my 3rd Carnival cruise and my 4th cruise total. This is the first Carnival cruise that I have thoroughly enjoyed so I wanted to share my experience. I wasn't overly excited about the cruise due to past experiences, but I decided to go in with the intent to enjoy every moment. Some of the things that made this cruise better: I didn't feel like the only thing to do on this ship was spend money, the food was much better than in the past, the crew was outstanding.

I read the reviews of the layout being terrible and the ship being too crowded. Didn't notice a problem with either. Now if you go to serenity at 10am looking for loungers for multiple people, it's probably not going to happen. The Lido breakfast lines were long, but aren't they always? Just have a little patience and you won't even notice the crowding.

So this is us, Tosha and Matt, celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary.

We drove to Port Canaveral from Mississippi. About 9.5 hours.

We left Saturday morning around 7:45 am central time. Ladies you know when the nails are done, you are officially ready. :)

The drive was uneventful. Traffic was fine. We stopped a lot. We thought this was a funny pic.

We arrived at Days Inn Cocoa Beach around 7pm. We relaxed in the room and then went to Fishlips for dinner. The food was good. Then it was back to the hotel for bed. I don't have a lot of pictures of food. Bummer. I love seeing the pics of food in the reviews but I just love eating too much to stop and take a pic.

The Days Inn was a nice motel. I would stay there again. It's right across from the pier and we got a coupon for 40% off of port parking. Bed was comfortable and it was clean. Breakfast offerings were only cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, and toast but we were about to eat ourselves silly for the next 5 days so we were fine with a light breakfast.

Next up is embarkation and Day 1.

Thanks for reading :)

I woke up at 5 am and couldn't go back to sleep so I went to the pier to watch the sunrise. Unfortunately, it was really cloudy. I came back around 7 and we spent some time rearranging luggage and getting ready. We had breakfast and went back to the pier for a while, then checked out at 11 am.

After a short drive to the port, we were parked close to the terminal. Check in was painless. We were in zone 7 for boarding and made it on a little after noon.

Guess where we went? Straight to the food! We decided on Guys and it was ok. Not fantastic but a good burger. This would be the only time we ate there.

Then Matt had a few things from the buffet....

And I discovered cake pops. Absolutely heaven. I was in love.

The cake pops will come up again later. Lol. Stay tuned for that.

Be back later to continue day 1.

So we finished lunch and explored the ship a little. It was definitely windy.

Next, we headed to our room, 8318 port side standard balcony.

Next, I went to tour the spa while Matt went to check out the EA sports bar and casino. We completed muster and met by the water slides with our roll call group (from another site that shall not be named). Our cruise director, Jaime, announced we would be departing late due to a medical emergency. I went to the spa raffle at 5 and missed sail away and of course I didn't win. Lol

Pics from sail away will be in the next post because I got an error saying too many pics.

We got ready for dinner and checked in to YTD on deck 5 across from taste bar. No wait, easy peasy. Walked down to deck 3 and was immediately sat at table 431 with John. John was fantastic. I was hungry so no menu or food pics tonight. I got the brisket and the beef and barley soup. Both were delicious. Matt got the fish and I can't remember what else.

That was about it for day 1. We didn't do any events that night.

Oh well bought the social media package to keep in touch with our babysitters and it was well worth it.
