With drink packages 18% paid in full or was included before the change,, Isn't there still a 18% on all drinks while in your home port (or is that just NY port?) I have read where people were charged tax for their drinks before hitting the open water

Some ports charge a state tax. Don't think it is 18% but not sure exactly what it is. This would only be while docked in port.

Platinum dinner perk change to 1-1-1 affects all Platinum diners, regardless of when they booked.

Just curious... is there an 18% gratuity charged to platinum members for the value of their free dinner? I would think not, but just want to know if any one has any clear answer for that question.

I had my Platinum dinners on the Pearl in October and the Star in November and was not charged a gratuity either time.

 

I did leave a cash gratuity on both occasions. I was not aware of the change to the Platinum dinners of 1-1-1 hence, as is our custom , we had a 4 course meal on both occasions which included 2 appetizers. One night a third was shared. We were not charged extra. Not sure if they had a means to do so as we were in Le Bistro and on those ships there is no à la carte dining yet so I am unsure how they would determine an extra price. It might also be important to note that on the Pearl we dined with a couple who had the UDP and on the Star I was hosting another couple for whom I paid the set price (as well as one add on).
