Cancellation Fee

Cruising soon on Breeze (5 December) on an Ultra(casino) cruise offer. My wife can no longer go with me so I need to cancel her. When I called they wanted to charge me 50.00 but refund the Port/Fees. Does someone else have this situation happen to you and were you charged the 50.00. I only find it odd because I could have booked this as solo as I did on my previous Premier cruise and wasn't charged any kind of supplement. I don't mind paying it obviously but just want to be sure that this is the case.

I had to postpone a cruise this past October (it was a bounce back from the Casino) and rescheduled for November and was charged $50 pp.

Couldn't you just go and your wife be a no show. They will refund port fees then too from what I understand and not charge a cancellation fee. Unless you have some sort of travel insurance and are getting refunded the cruise. Not sure?

Exactly what I was wondering. I seem to recall someone doing that but getting CRS disease (Cant Remember sh*t). Maybe someone can confirm what they did when the 2nd pax no-shows.

I did this a few years ago. My ex girlfriend was booked and we went our own ways and I just showed up, checked in told them she would be late at the desk and then after we set sail told guest services she would not be joining me at all. I got my port taxes/fees back and didn't pay the $50 penalty to cancel her.
