Rio to Shanghai cancelled

We have booked Rio - Shanghai next March, received an email last week that due to "operational reasons" they are not going to Rio .

They have offered us alternate cruise with Magnifica from Rio to Malta

and flight to Naples and hotel to pick up Lirica cruise

Nothing about reimbursement of air fares, to rebook it will cost $640 AU per person.

Can anyone tell us where we stand with them ??

We are on holidays in France and have sent 6 emails and no response since original email.

If you read this thread and take note of a poster called tomvet, he has a similar story to you. He was booked on an Opera Cruise which got cancelled, he gives an account of what he did and the outcome.
