Crane Beach

Looking for some beach time in Barbados and have read how beautiful Crane Beach is, so we're thinking about going there.

 

I'm not finding a lot about the beach, are their facilities if we choose to go on our own? Does the hotel still sell day passes, I don't see anything recently. How far away from the cruise port? Any other advice is welcomed.

Two years ago we shared a cab with another couple and went to Crane Beach. The cab drivers all tried to talk us out of going there, but we are glad that we went.

 

It was a long drive and back then it cost us $35.00 each way. We had been told by the resort that we could buy a day pass for 25 Barbados dollars and would get tokens for that amount to buy drinks and food. When we got there they said that they were not selling passes, but go ahead down to the beach. They didn't want us to use the pool or their sun beds, but we were fine with that and rented them from a local. There was a little bar just behind the beach that was run by the resort and we got a burger and some beer there. We loved our day there, the beach is beautiful and the waves were amazing!

 

We are on the Summit next week and planning another trip to Crane. This time we are renting a car with another couple on the roll call.
