CruiseFan3035 Posted December 28, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 28, 2015 Hi All, Hoping some was past experience can refer us to a decent hotel in Seattle. We are staying a few days before our Alaskan cruise and would like to explore Seattle a bit before hand. We are not renting a car and are looking for something fairly reasonable. Also I have been reading the blogs about transportation and other things and must say its all a bit overwhelming so Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you. Rare martincath Posted December 29, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 29, 2015 We've always enjoyed the Maxwell; the same folks also run the Hotel Five (decor is a bit louder, rooms a bit smaller, a little closer to downtown but further from Space Needle). The Mediterranean Inn and LaQuinta are also decent and should save a few bucks. All of these are close enough to downtown attractions to walk there, but in a quieter area. Lots of restaurants & bars around Queen Anne - the Med and Maxwell are closest. If you're cruising out of pier 91 (e.g. Princess) they're also closer to that, with shared shuttles available for $5pp in our experience on cruise days. Maxwell offers packages with transfer to pier, but extra $$$ not worth it IMO.
