Bellacruz54 Posted January 9, 2016 #26 Share Posted January 9, 2016 Thank you for your review, I love the format, pictures and videos. So helpful! I want to sail the Escape and try NCL .....we have only done RC and our last cruise on the Freedom left us wanting to try something different. Anyways, I would like it to be the Escape but the Itinerary is better for us on the Getaway. Would you do Getaway or Breakaway again after the Escape, or is it much better and improved? Rosethorn40 Posted January 9, 2016 #27 Share Posted January 9, 2016 So refreshing to read a positive review of the Escape. I realized that there were some legitimate complaints, especially in the beginning, but I was wondering if it was really THAT bad! Looks like you had a wonderful time. Thank you for sharing your photos and videos.

Thanks so much for the compliments. I'm glad I could help. I think it is nice to try out different cruise lines. We are looking at trying RC too. Our friends who sailed on the Anthem (from Bayonne, NJ) were very happy about their Thanksgiving cruise. We would sail on the Breakaway again in a heartbeat! We would like to try the Getaway as well. The itinerary for the Getaway is more appealing to us but we picked the Escape for the ship this cruise. I realized that there were some legitimate complaints, especially in the beginning, but I was wondering if it was really THAT bad! Looks like you had a wonderful time. Thank you for sharing your photos and videos. Thanks for reading along and watching the videos. I know there was a lot of negativity even before our cruise but I was happy to see some good reviews/feedback here on CC. The ship and our cruise was not perfect but we didn't let the negative things ruin our experience. Yes, we really had an amazing week! The worst day of the cruise was debarkation day since we didn't want to leave yet.

aquarianne11 Posted January 9, 2016 Author #34 Share Posted January 9, 2016 (edited) Splash Academy The Splash Academy has always been one of the highlights for this little girl. I'm posting this photo because according to my daughter, her friends loved her dress. They enjoyed chasing her that night, asking for gumballs! The kids also performed in a circus show during the final sea day of the cruise. It is called the Splashtacular Extravaganza. My daughter really enjoyed learning how to use the Devil sticks. She also wanted to learn how to spin plates but never got enough time to practice. Well, maybe next time! aquarianne11 Posted January 10, 2016 Author #38 Share Posted January 10, 2016 According to this little girl, the best time to be in Splash Academy is from 7PM to 10:30PM since they have different fun themes and activities every night. During the pirate-themed night, she was not very happy when her dad picked her up around 10PM because she will be missing the treasure hunt. We had an excursion at 7AM the following day so we had to sleep early. Pirate Parade The Splash Academy is also decorated accordingly depending on the theme. stuckinbuffalo Posted January 10, 2016 #45 Share Posted January 10, 2016 Really enjoyed your review! I appreciate both the positive and the not so positive aspects of your trip. I know that a lot of people get upset with the negative reviews that they read, but I usually take them with a grain of salt. People have so many different opinions about what "should be" etc. It takes very little to make us happy that I'm not at all worried. We sailed on the Getaway last January and really enjoyed it! We leave on the Escape in 6 days and your review has really gotten me incredibly excited! Thanks for taking the time to put together the pictures and video's!!! aquarianne11 Posted January 11, 2016 Author #47 Share Posted January 11, 2016 (edited) ACTIVITIES When it comes to variety of activities, the Escape has a lot to offer. We are happy that we have THREE wonderful sea days on the Escape. There's plenty to do throughout the day onboard the ship. I have to start by saying, while we did experience many of the Escape’s features, we were not able to do everything. ROPES COURSE The ropes course is free and is very popular. Don't forget to wear closed-toe shoes and take everything out of your pockets. The minimum height for the main ropes course is 48 inches. Our daughter did not make the height requirement during our Breakaway cruise last year so she had to use the smaller ropes course. On the Escape, a smaller ropes course is also available for kids who did not make the height requirement 48 inches. It looks really fun too. She was very excited to try the ropes course on the Escape!!! Edited January 11, 2016 by aquarianne11
aquarianne11 Posted January 11, 2016 Author #48 Share Posted January 11, 2016 (edited) Ropes Course The expanded, three-story Ropes Course looks great! My family only tried the first level, that was challenging enough for them. She enjoyed the ziplines!!! This was the scary part for her! aquarianne11 Posted January 11, 2016 Author #49 Share Posted January 11, 2016 (edited) On Deck 18 - Aft, you'll find the Escape Roof Top Mini Golf, a nine-hole mini-golf course. This was originally designed with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme before Norwegian and Nickelodeon terminated their partnership. That would have been so much cuter, but no big deal for us. My family really enjoyed playing here. Escape Roof Top Mini Golf At Night Edited January 11, 2016 by aquarianne11
aquarianne11 Posted January 11, 2016 Author #50 Share Posted January 11, 2016 The Aqua Park Since we had THREE SUPER FUN DAYS AT SEA on the Escape plus one whole morning before arriving in Nassau, we spent a lot of time in the Aqua Park! The Aqua Park features 2 freefall water slides. To use these slides, you have to remove your watch and jewelries. There is also a weight and height requirement so my daughter can't try it. I've done freefall slides before and I never really enjoyed them so I skipped the freefall slides on the Escape. My daughter really enjoyed the open yellow water slide that you can see in the picture. It is a tamer ride for kids and adults alike. The Aqua Park also includes a wide navy tube called the Aqua Racer. We love the Aqua Racer! My daughter calls it the THE PARTY SLIDE! It is so much fun! I love the glass part above the ocean, it is a clear portion that extends over the side of the ship.
