AdrenalineRush Posted January 9, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2016 They had to heavily discount many of them,so that's probably why they didn't offer them on the new schedules.
Galleon1234 Posted January 9, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted January 9, 2016 Yes, they gave them practically away to big casino players. Very tired of their 7 day same itineraries. Love the long cruises to new places.
MaiTaiMary Posted January 9, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 9, 2016 I would love to see more 10 day cruises to anywhere!
kingoftheicedragons Posted January 9, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 9, 2016 It's not out of Galveston, but I'm hoping to take the Journeys cruise out of Baltimore and finishing in Tampa in 2017. Hopefully they will offer more of these, and include more home/debark ports again.
NOSaints1 Posted January 9, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 9, 2016 I wonder why they would have to discount them, when lots of people wanted longer days and exotic ports
Canadian_J Posted January 9, 2016 #7 Share Posted January 9, 2016 I wonder why they would have to discount them, when lots of people wanted longer days and exotic ports All I can say is that it clearly wasn't enough people if so many cabins went un-sold and had to be discounted. While many love the idea of longer cruises, it can be a lot harder logistically (time off work, flying to/from different ports, having to cruise when that one sailing goes out, etc.) Also we would much prefer to go to a home port we're familiar with (FLL/MIA) rather than go out to NOLA or Galveston. For us, that would be a deal breaker. So maybe others have those opinions. That's why I can see these being more successful out of the major hubs, and less so in the "home ports".
