You can go either by water taxi or car taxi, either way is about the same price (5-7 pp IIRC).

Once there, you can go into Atlantis to browse the shops or casino for free, at least when I was there in 2011. Also in the area around Atlantis there are shops, maybe small cafes, etc.

If you want to use the waterpark at Atlantis is is very expensive. Aquarium charges per person too.

We enjoy taking a taxi over to Marina Village to see the yachts and walk around the shops and go to the casino.

We have been to the Aquarium, which is interesting.

There is so much to do in Nassau which is not too expensive such as go to Ardastra Gardens and Zoo or go to Cable Beach.

We did a beach excursion at Atlantis. Honestly, we thought it was a dump. The employees were not friendly, and we didn't think it lived up to the hype. We did explore many areas of the resort. It's disappointing and we aren't hard to please.

I didn't think it's worth it and glad I didnt pay to get in. I originally signed up for the dolphin encounter but the dolphins weren't behaving well that day and cancelled our excursion so carnival gave us all free passes to Atlantis. The place was packed and the lines were long, we only went on the lazy river, aquarium and the pool. Kids didnt want to wait on thoses lines. We were just at Universal that same week and felt like I was back there but in swimsuits. Not worth the cost but at least I got to experience it once

It's absolutely worth checking out. I don't know how anyone could knock this place. I travel a lot and have been to many places. I would put Atlantis at the top as a resort. The grounds are beautiful, the water park itself is amazing. We stayed there for a week last March and I want to go back again.

We've never been but I've heard good things from a particularly "fancy" lady at work that took her extended family. They all loved it. We thought about it for our upcoming cruise but with 4 ships in port that day, and the 4.5 hour shore excursion priced at $189 a person for a total of $700+, we decided to skip. Lots of reviews on tripadvisor that will tell you you'll be lucky to ride each slide once in that timeframe. We also looked at the Comfort Suites option for much less but still, decided to do something less hectic.

Royal Caribbean times in port at Nassau are horrible. my last two cruises we were there from 2pm-11pm and 7am-2pm. It just doesnt give you much options and I would of gladly spent my money at Atlantis but not during those horrible times since Atlantis aqua venture operates from 10am-5pm.
