Number of ships in port

I've seen multiple posts where people comment before they cruise that their ship is the only ship in port on a certain day, or there will be four ships in port that day. My question is...how does someone find our in advance how many ships are in port? I can see how this would help as you plan excursions.

I find that generic sites are fairly good at listing cruise ships that sail on major lines out of the US, but often miss lines like Pullmantur, CDF, Aida etc. Some port have their own, much better schedules online. Try Googling "Port of __________ schedule".
