FLL - Can't decide

Well the La Quinta is a few miles closer to Miami, but if you're getting in early enough to want to go to dinner and/or do anything else AmeriSuites is in a much better location. AmeriSuites is in a safe area, less than 10 minutes from FLL and within easy walking distance of many many restaurants, shops, grocery, drug & liquor stores.

Do you have a rental car or will you be taking a shuttle/limo to Miami?

Thanks for the reply.

We'll do either shuttle or limo to the port in Miami - less stressful to start the vacation. Seems like Amerisuites will work best for us.

We had a bad hotel experience in Miami for one of our pre-cruise stays, so I'm looking forward to trying Fort Lauderdale.

Again thank you so much!

Even with the not so good hotel experience, we didn't let it bother us. Just another part of the adventure!

Now if I can just pin down the details on the rest of our trip. After the cruise we are renting a car and driving to the Keys for 4 days. I still need to get the rental car reserved and a hotel there too!

Several of the major rental car companies will pick you up at the Port of Miami and take you to their MIA locations.

They Keys are gorgeous and Key West is a lot of fun... Have a great time! :)

Does anyone know if the car rental companies in FLL pick you up at the port also??

Some do, some don't... If yours doesn't, Port Everglades and FLL are adjacent, just grab a taxi - it's 5 minutes to the new Car Rental Center at FLL, which is a large parking garage in the middle of the airport terminals.
