ncklhaus Posted February 18, 2016 Author #302 Share Posted February 18, 2016 They were getting Cagney's on the Waterfront set up for dinner as well. This is where we would be eating tonight. The view from Cagney's Waterfront
ncklhaus Posted February 18, 2016 Author #303 Share Posted February 18, 2016 We went back to our room to get ready for dinner and we find that more snacks were left in our room. Assorted cheese, toasts, and, I believe, an olive tapenade.
ncklhaus Posted February 18, 2016 Author #304 Share Posted February 18, 2016 We were all ready to go to dinner after a relaxing day on a relatively empty ship, so down to Cagney's to wait for our table to be ready. We waited just long enough to be able to take this picture of Melissa. The view from our table. Pretty awesome. The weather was perfect for outdoor dining. ncklhaus Posted February 18, 2016 Author #310 Share Posted February 18, 2016 As I had said earlier we had the room decorated with the Party package on the first day. They had taped a few balloons to the ceiling, hung a few streamers as well and put a sign that said Bon Voyage on the wall. It was nice but nothing spectacular. That package also came with a large cake that I had delivered to the Cruise Critic Meet and Greet. It was way too big for only 3 people to eat. After dinner, we brought Melissa back to Splash Academy for the Pirate Plunder party and we spent some time in the casino and one of the bars. Everything seemed like business as usual after we picked her back up. Well, when we came back to the room, we were blown away by what our fantastic room steward, butler, and concierge had done to our room. It was unbelievable! Take a look....so many balloons and all of those towel animals!

ncklhaus Posted February 18, 2016 Author #312 Share Posted February 18, 2016 Then it was time to get ready for bed. We usually picked Melissa up between 10:00 and 10:30pm, so by the time we were all wound down and able to sleep, it was close to midnight. The next day was Tortola and we would be staying on the ship again. I was warned about going into the water there. It is said that the bacteria levels in the water are very high (something about the sailboats discharging their waste into the water) and I couldn't take a risk of getting sick. Remember, I had only finished chemotherapy 3 weeks earlier.

ncklhaus Posted February 19, 2016 Author #316 Share Posted February 19, 2016 Welcome to Tortola. I must say it was absolutely beautiful and I will most certainly go back again and go explore the island. I heard fantastic things about a place called The Baths. ncklhaus Posted February 19, 2016 Author #318 Share Posted February 19, 2016 They had the Emergency drill today. I noticed that they have the Emergency lighting along the hallway floors. It's not normally lit up and it kind of looks pretty. They deployed the life boats as well during the drill. I was hanging out on the Haven sun deck for some of the drill and took this video. We didn't do much today but Melissa did go to Splash Academy again. She really loved it there. I'm pretty sure we went to O'Sheehan's to bowl and play some arcade games for a while. You can see some of the tickets we won in the picture with the fruit below. The fruit was one of the mid afternoon snacks that were left in our room, along with some chocolate today. When we went to bowl, both lanes were messed up. One lane had the pins all tangled together so you couldn't use that lane and we didn't notice it until we started playing, but the other lane was missing a pin. I went to Guest Services and let them know and they said that they would send someone to fix it. We didn't stay to find out, but when we passed by the next day, both lanes were fixed. ncklhaus Posted February 20, 2016 Author #322 Share Posted February 20, 2016 We woke up early this morning as we had an excursion booked and needed to be outside on the pier by 8:15 IIRC. So we had an alarm set for 6:15. We woke up and were able to see the sun rise over St Maarten. We went to the Haven restaurant for breakfast at 7am and were escorted off the ship at 8am. It was nice and easy to be able to get to our excursion group on time.
ncklhaus Posted February 20, 2016 Author #323 Share Posted February 20, 2016 We get off the ship and while we are waiting I figure I can get a picture of Mike and Melissa standing by the ship. As I'm getting into position, this man walks up and stops to take his own pictures. I have no problem with people doing the same thing as us, but did he have to stop right there? LOL This is the picture I really wanted. And one of Melissa. This is as close to the ropes as she would go.
ncklhaus Posted February 20, 2016 Author #324 Share Posted February 20, 2016 When we got off the ship we asked where we should go to meet up for our excursion. We were told to head to the end of the pier and there would be someone there with a sign for our group. We walked all the way there only to be told that was incorrect and we should wait by the ship for the person with the sign. Yikes. Look how far we had walked. All rightly then, let's walk back. I thought this was a cool picture opportunity.
ncklhaus Posted February 20, 2016 Author #325 Share Posted February 20, 2016 We finally met up with our group and were ready to go on our excursion. We were going to take a half hour or so bus ride to go on a boat with a glass bottom and see the reefs and sea life in St Maarten. I don't remember the name of the excursion right now, but I will look it up and let you know. It was amazing. Me and Melissa on the bus. The inside of the bus. It was an interesting ride.
