the walk to cave tubing

We are stopping at Belize in March, and I am contemplating the Cave Tubing.

 

Here is the complication.

 

I tore my ACL just before Thanksgiving and had ACL reconstruction 12/21. I can already walk without assistance, do stairs, and will most likely be cleared to snorkle by then (definitely swim). I was back at work without brace/crutch/cane 10 days post op.

 

How treacherous/uneven is the hike from the bus to the caves?

 

I will not be allowed to pivot yet and probably should not be doing anything on severely uneven terrain or very slippery terrain.

 

To be clear: Im not asking for medical advice. Just how the paths are.

 

If its too much, we will stay on the boat and let the kids "take over" the slide while everyone else is in port :D. I plan on doing a similar cruise next March, so its more of a question of now or later.

Only you can decide if you are able to do this or not. We did cave tubing with cavetubing.bz and this is the terrain we covered. I personally wouldn't do this after just recovering from ACL surgery.

 

You make your way down some wet stairs to the edge of the river where you cross the river with the assistance of a rope.

We then had a fairly lengthy trek over some moderate terrain.
