Jcsups Posted February 2, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 2, 2016 We are taking two teens on a Carnival Cruise in April. We are planning paddle boarding in Cabo. But what can we do in Mazatlan we want to do a snorking excursion but cant find any in Mazatlan. Can we do paddle board excursion there and snorkel in Cabo? We really enjoyed that last year when we went on this cruise.
bobnsofi Posted February 4, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 4, 2016 Mazatlan, suggest nearby stone island for affordable beach play with all the usual beach play options, including horses (rustic, dusty, sandy, cheap). Or, El Cid resort ($8 taxi each way). El Cid has all the usual beach play options, and pools, showers (clean, more $ to eat and play, pay as you go). The Mexican Riviera has a lower quality snorkel, yet is very popular in Cabo (off a boat tour),
crAZytwinmomma Posted March 4, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 4, 2016 We did a horse ride along the beach with Gingers horses. Then we had lunch and hung out at la playa bruja. It was not crowded at all and we loved it. Your teens might prefer the crowd but wanted to throw out that other option. Melcoug Posted March 4, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2016 We absolutely love going over to Stone Island. Last visit, there were only 2 couples and 1 family from our cruise who went there. It's a popular spot with locals on the weekends, but not too many are there during the week so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. It's an easy walk to the water taxi, and after being dropped off on the other side of the waterway, we walked down the beach to Lety's. Stayed there all delaying in lounge chairs, playing in the water, and eating (excellent coconut shrimp) and drinking for dirt cheap. The restaurant even had a boogie board that my husband borrowed for a bit. There are ATVs that can be rented for rides down the beach, or vendor's who offer banana boat rides. We're doing another cruise that stops in Mazatlan with our kids later this year and I can't wait to go back to Stone Island.
