Married on Voyager 10/2/05 - Review!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone!

I will try to give you all the details but if I miss something just ask!

They had told us that everyone needed to be there by 10:30AM so when we got to the ship I was surprised how well everything was organized. Royal Romance had a special table set up for my guests to check in at which made everything remarkably easy. They escorted all my guests to an area in the terminal to await boarding...the sailing guests had to check in inside which also went really well and then escorted us back with our other guests. While we were waiting the officiant her name was Pamela came back and introduced herself to us and then had us sign all the papers while we waited so we wouldn't have to do it on the ship before the wedding. We were suppose to board around 11:00 but there was a problem with the cruise before us and the ship didn't clear customs until much later. We weren't able to board until about 12:10. Once again Royal Romance was right there telling me not to worry that they would push back my wedding time which was suppose to be at 1:00PM and now was going to be at 1:30PM. By the time I got to my room it was 12:30.

Getting ready was chaotic to say the least (but fun). The guys went to one cabin and the girls went to my cabin. None of us had our hair done ahead of time and no one was dressed ahead of time. My one bridesmaid did everyone's hair and we all got dressed extremely quickly. And I must say we all looked great!!! The guests were told they could go look around the ship until it was time for the wedding but what they never told us is that if your guests want to have a drink while they are waiting they can purchase it with a credit card. So, that is where most of them went to wait for the wedding.

The Ceremony itself was beautiful!! It was short and sweet. We used their music for the ceremony which worked out really well. We got married in the Chapel. There is a small aisle to walk down and they had a white runner down for me (which Royal Romance told me if I wanted one I would have to supply it...not true) and there was 2 beautiful silk flower arrangements there on pedistals that just made it look so much more like a wedding (once again RR told me I would have to buy any flowers that I wanted in the Chapel for the service...not true).

The Recption was just as wonderful!! We were in the 7hearts/Cloud Nine the only problem with this room for a reception is even though they open the wall between the 2 rooms it is definetly 2 rooms and half your guests will be in one and the other half in the other room. It still all worked out fine. We brought our own music to the reception (I am sure some of you remember they were charging us 1261.00 for a DJ and we got rid of him) Someone brought a CD player and that worked out wonderful for us it was nice backround music. We never got time to eat although everything looked wonderful and all of the guests said the food was out of this world! They did make us up plates of food and took them to our cabin for us. (But beware if you tell them yes they can take it to the cabin there will be 10 or more plates of food delivered to your stateroom...with not much room for it) We never ate any of it.

The cake was very plain it was pretty just the same but it just had a couple of roses on it and most of it was just empty space. However it was so good!!! They did bring the rest of that to the cabin...which we picked at for days!!! There was so much cake left...don't order cake for everyone unless you plan on living off of the cake the rest of the week. We had 49 guests and ordered cake for 35 and had soooo much left!

We had decided against ordering coffee for everyone and that was a good move since one deck down there was plenty of it to go around but I only saw one person get a cup.

Photographers - this was the only real complaint I had. They were suppose to come by the cabin when we were dressing and no one did. They were at the Ceremony but after that they wanted us to leave our reception and when I said no way they took about 3 or 4 pictures of the bridal party at the recption and then disappeared. They weren't back in time for the cutting of the cake or the toast. When they did come back they said they were sorry that they got tied up with the other wedding on board. Also they took no pictures of our guests ONLY the bridal party. They were suppose to get in touch with us in a day or two to show us the pictures and they did not. We had to go to them on the last night of the cruise. Fortunately my sister is a photographer (she tried to stay undercover) but she took all of our pictures during the wedding and the reception. After the reception we went with her all over the ship for pictures. I don't have them back yet but I will post pictures as soon as I get them.

The cruise itself was wonderful we had perfect weather!!!

Hey Lori,

Thanks for posting your review. I'm glad everything went great for you. I can't wait to see the pictures when you post them! Do you know where the other wedding on the ship was held? Just curious if it was in the dining room.

Once again Royal Romance was right there telling me not to worry that they would push back my wedding time which was suppose to be at 1:00PM and now was going to be at 1:30PM.

If you were working with the Cruise Program Administrator then you were working with an employee of ROYAL CARIBBEAN not Royal Romance. My Royal Romance wedding coordinators SUCKED

I had the same experience with the flowers. ROYAL CARIBBEAN had many different pedestals and silk flower arrangements to choose from when Royal Romance said none would be provided.....

You need to get some of your money back!! they are supposed to not leave your side for the amount of time you paid them for. We paid for 3 hours of photography and, even though Juana wasn't taking pictures the whole time, she was ALWAYS visible at the reception.

Please don't come on this thread and take what I said out of text! Is all I did was give an honest review, if you had read it or my previous post then you would see I had a wonderful wedding and a reception I certainly don't want to ask for anything back or file any complaints or put any hint of bad into what was such a wonderful and perfect day! I am sorry you feel the way you do but please bash them elsewhere. There are people on this board that have asked for my opinions on these things.

Thank you.

I didnt take anything out of text. I responded to the text in your post. In no way did I say that you were speaking ill of your wedding or of Royal Romance.

Iassumed that, because you posted on the board, you are open to comments, others opinions, feedback, etc.

Otherwise one would think you would do that "post it" type post, where it is a post only and not open for feedback or comments.

Apologies if you mis understood my posts and thought that I was posting an attack on you or your special day.

Cruiseescape:

Congratulations on your wedding and happy to read that you had a beautiful day.

DH/I had our ten year vow renewal on VOS in July and it was wonderful. We were remarried in the chapel (which is beautiful) and had our small reception at Cloud 9 which was perfect. We dreamed of this for ten years, I wore my wedding gown again, had pictures throughout the ship and it was a day that I'll never forget.

Even though you had some issues, it's great to hear that you had a fantastic day/cruise.

Many happy years to both of you and best wishes. Looking forward to seeing the pictures!

Congratulations!!

I am glad you had a nice wedding. Our only complaint was the pictures. our photographer was good, but the pictures looked rushed, not centered, but they were fine. They werent superb. We had The Wedding Experience, are they the same as Royal Romance, I cant remember? We also ate the cake for the whole cruise, LOL, we even had some sent to our friends cabins so they could eat some, I hate wasting food, LOL!!

We had a few snags, but all in all it was a wonderful day. My oldest is 21 and I hope that when she decides to get married it will be a cruise wedding!!

Royal Romance pushes back ceremonies, not the ship administrators. They have the authority to give brides more time if needed, and the CPA complies with the coordinar. Any time a Royal bride posts a positive review, yo tear them apart. Obviously you had a bad experience. So what? There are hundreds of great reviews I have read over the years, but you always say it was the crusie line that fixzed everything. You are wrong. The RR coordinators by and large do a great job. So you had a bad time. Move on already. You are coming acros as a spoiled, selfish, bitter woman, and perfect wouldn't have been good enough (fpr you). This forum is to share experiences, and you share not only bad innacurate info that brides come on and correct you, but this is getting old for all of us, so you really need ti just be quiet and let the rest of us share our happy moments. Did it ever occur to you that you had an isolated experience. Can you say you have been very wrong sbout things? probably not. It apears you are bring PAID to write slams. You have all the earmarks of a hired blogger! Move on as you have no credibility left.
