swymnwymn Posted October 10, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 10, 2005 FYI if you are staying at FLL pre or post cruise the King Tut exhibit is now on sale. If you have a certificate # from getting on a list ahead of time you can order via ticketmaster or the Broward performing arts site. I was able to order even though I didn't have my certificate # handy - just left certificate # blank. Go to official site http://www.kingtut.org/tickets.htm Then click on Broward Performing Arts Center link to order (at #2 under Fort lauderdale) It worked for me by leaving certificate # blank although maybe they cross-checked that I do have a certificate # Good luck

richandcindy Posted October 11, 2005 #3 Share Posted October 11, 2005 This is not the same exhibit that toured the US in the 70's. It is a being run as a for-profit business and as such many museums are refusing to run it. Thus it will not be in NYC at all. Most of the items are small, the only gold is on the small items, the larger items are wood and cloth and the famous gold death mask is not there (although the museum I saw the exhibit at in Switzerland had a life size replica for sale in the gift shop). Many of the items are not from King Tut but are from other tombs. There is a sarcophagus but it is not Tut's. After seeing the King Tut exhibit in the 70's and the exhibits in the British museum (which Egypt is still demanding they return the items), this is certainly a rip off. But if you have never seen any King Tut display, this is better than nothing. But be warned.
Jim B Posted November 8, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 8, 2005 We received our King Tut tickets in the mail this past Saturday for 11:00 am Tuesday 12/27/05 We have secured our luggage at HIEX Convention Center and will take a cab. Are we going to have a problem getting a cab back to the hotel?
