Carnival - port of Galveston question

I have sailed numerous times from both Ft Lauderdale and Miami and I am familiar with how things are done there. Specifically security consists of walking through a metal detector that is set on a low sensitivity (no pat downs like you may receive at the airport unless the metal detector senses something) and putting carry on bags through an X-ray machine. It is not necessary to remove belts, shoes, empty pockets, etc.....Is Galveston essentially the same? Thank you!

Pretty much, but I did have to remove my belt. And it was just a regular belt-no big buckle or anything.
