Ugh so now I'm upset because apparently someone already booked the embarkation day and they only do 1 per sailing. I'm upset with my wedding planner because honestly making sure she's on top of Royal is the main reason I retained her. Ugh. so now I have to call, switch to another sailing. so we'll see. of course noone at royal weddings is picking up the phone.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

WOW! That is so unfortunate, I would be beyond upset especially since you have been planning for this specific date. There is a part of me that is really surprised it is gone already, with the sailings having only being posted for a week now. Stephanie has been great, her ext. is 36368. Keep us posted, sorry this is happening to you. I know the anxiety I was having, so I can't even imagine how you feel.

Yeah no one's even available to talk to me when I call. I just want to know what my options are at this point. Are the other dates gone too? I mean there's only 3 dates in July. I left a message for Stephanie so hopefully she can call me back and let me know.

I'm just kicking myself because I should've just did it myself rather than leaving it to the wedding planner. I was booked the day after the dates came out. That's the hard part. Been engaged since Dec. 2014 and just waiting for dates to finally come out only to lose out like this. Ahhhh.

Charsettb how long after you made your initial call to book did someone call you back? Everytime I call they keep saying no one is available and to leave a message.

It kinda played a little differently for me. Before the dates were available, I called and was able to connect with Stephanie live on the first attempt. She sent me the contract and profile links so that I could be prepared with the dates were published. Once I had my booking, I called and there was noone available, so I sent an email asking if the contract had changed because I was ready to execute (it changed since march) and she responded same day with the new version but I was out of town. I submitted and she noted it was sent for approval. Two days later she let me know it was approved and we connected for payment. I read somewhere on a blog that email maybe better.

I emailed the generic email from the website. Do you have her direct email?

Cool glad you all were able to connect with someone finally! I had the same experience with Stephanie. Have you figured out dates yet?

We moved to the July 29, 2017 sailing. It's fine, I'm just waiting for the contract approval before I tell everyone the new date. It's actually 2 days after my mom's birthday so that will be nice.:D

Update! My contract was approved! :D I remembered charsettb saying it took 2 days to get the approval so when it wasn't there this morning I e-mailed the lady I was communicating with. She wrote me back around 1:30pm to tell me it's approved and to let me know to contact her to make final payment. I called but of course there was no answer .

Oh, the venue listed in my contract is Two70 which is what I wanted so no change needed there.:D

Great news! I was expecting it to come soon. I am sending out my STD's tomorrow.

QQ, are you going to suggest your guest select Dynamic Choice or Dynamic Classic dining? I want to be able to choose different times but also like the idea of being around my friends and family at dinner time. What are you going with?

We're going to do Classic Dining early. We have some young ones going with us including my son who will be 4 at the time so the early dining is a must. Plus although this will probably be the biggest group, we normally do a friends & family cruise and we always have dinner together. It's a chance for us to connect and find out about each other's day.:D

Well still haven't been able to pay for the wedding. I tried contacting the lady who sent me the invoice but the number she provided led me to another person's voicemail. I left a message as well as e-mailed her yesterday. Today I've called off and on all day. My FH called and left a voicemail today as well. Tried calling the main number too but the phone just rings and rings, noone is picking up. :(

Maybe it's a busy day with ships departing over the weekends. Don't fret, I am sure they are just overwhelmed.

Update! Jillian wrote yesterday and apologized but she hasn't been in the office. FH called her yesterday and made the payment so we're all set!. We have a call set up with Stephanie on July 22. :D

In other news my entire house caught a stomach virus over the weekend so everything was at a stand still. We're finally on the mend.

Today I sent an e-mail out to my family & friends with all the details of the wedding and FH will do the same.

Another update.

I contacted Jillian via e-mail on 5/3 to ask her these 3 questions:

1. How long does the ceremony + reception last?

2. What time will non-sailing guests need to leave the ship?

3. How do we authorize a liaison to speak with the wedding planner on our behalf? We have a wedding planner who is helping us and would like her to be able to speak with the event planner as well?

She responded back today 5/5/16 stating:

Your package allows up to 3 hours for your ceremony and reception. Any non-sailing guests are typically escorted off the ship around 3:30 PM. This means that your ceremony would likely start no later than 11:30 AM.

Once you have your initial meeting with your event planner, she will be able to provide you with the third-party waiver allowing your event planner to contact us directly to make any additions or changes to your wedding plans

Just FYI. Whether or not your non sailing guest will be allowed on the ship that early is at the mercy of customs. I'm surprised she said anything can happen that early...

  • 1 month later...

So a small update.

I fired my personal wedding planner. She's nice and if we were having a land vacation I would have kept her. But she really let me down with the cruise date and as we move further along she really hasn't helped the way I thought she would and because we have such limited options with a cruise wedding I just decided it would be best to end our arrangement.

Sooo, it's just going to be me & FH with the planning. I expect my mom to help as well since she's retired and wouldn't mind.

Also, FH and his mom are going on the 5 night Bermuda cruise next month on Royal's Anthem. So they're doing our wedding cruise only a year early. FH's mom lives in Bayonne only a short distance away from the ship. Soo my plan is to have FH scope out everything in Bermuda so we have a better idea of what to do. I'm happy he's going with her, especially since it was last minute. It will be a good opportunity to check everything out. :D:cool:

Will do. I already instructed him to check if there's an embarkation wedding on his sailing and also look for a good beach to take pictures on. :D
