At 22 minutes a episode, frankly they were probably looking for interesting things to film.

Focusing on the dancer, CS rep guy, engineer, tender driver, housekeeping & kitchen.

Interesting they waited for the couple, 55 minutes late and they were actively looking thru field glasses for them. The computer glitch probably saved them.

The lost luggage was a shame for the Saudi family. The people who had the foodie experience for 75 pounds dressed really casual. I guess if it was a formal evening they had to comply?

The anniversary cake was bit much. It would have been funny if they could not get it out of the kitchen. Wasting 200 eggs and 10 kilos of sugar.

The last episode looks like it focuses on SPB, casino & dining.

Don't need staged drama, enough happens for real...

Excursion guides are constantly counting heads. It's usually passengers who lose themselves rather than tour guides...

Agreed that we need a little more insight into crew life and the challenges they face everyday. An hour would have given us more footage on the ship's approach and the interaction between captain and helm - but that's just the geek in me...

I like the focus on the crew in the later episodes rather than a focus on the passengers. Those of us who cruise see enough passenger antics and not enough behind the scenes.

Judy and I actually got to see the REAL parade of baked Alaska's back in the day when they used REAL flame - just not the same with the lights.

But overall interesting

And we hope to run into Timothy at least once in the next couple of years. He looks like a blast to go on an excursion with!

Now the show is finished I can say its much better than the one they produced on the Royal. I was working on the Royal at the time of the shooting and to say some of the 'documentary' crew were inexperienced would be an understatement. Lets just say they must have spent 5 weeks enjoying their cruise and about one week filming from what we saw.

I'm sure Princess head office listened to some of the criticism as finally in the Regal show we had more input from the captain and I noticed many more scenic shots of the ship showing how good it looks.

Working in production myself I would have loved the show to just follow around one person per episode (an hour long) but over the course of the 6 -9 contract, that would really show you the life of a crew member and show you it can be a completely different experience depending on what your job and rank is onboard.

A senior officers 3-4 month contract with their own cabin, cabin steward and full deck privileges is going to be different to say a photographers 6 month contract, who has to share 2 to a cabin and has some deck privileges compared to a galley cleaner who is probably doing a 9/10 month contract and has to get permission to get deck privileges.

I definitely think filming over a longer time period would help give a better insight into the running of the ship and crew involved.

Hi Goodison78,

From my chats with Princess I understand that Southampton is a lot happier

with the feed back they are getting on the show, they still had very limited

input to what was broadcast.

I now whant to know what ship Timothy is working on... so I can avoid booking it.

Funny, I now want to know what ship he is working on so I can meet him. I thought he was a blast. Maybe it was because he was Canadian like I am.

I will be on the Regal in October and I plan to see if he is still there.:)

So true. This one gave a more realistic idea of what happens on a cruise ship. There was also more shown of the ship itself. No Mandy, the passenger from hell. :)

Hi All

I think we start a thread where is Timothy,

so those of us who are not fans can avoid him,

yours Shogun

Yes... and for those on the same ship as him, we could have him wear a tracking device that shows his location as a red flashing dot on the deck plans.
