Barbados -Any suggestions on what to do for the day?

Hello, we will be on the island for a day during our cruise. Honestly, we love the Carribean-but-once you snorkle - been there done that.

Any recommendations on what to do? Should we just go to one of the beaches for the day? Any out of the ordinary type tour? Anything walking distance of the pier? Other then the RCI tours...what off site tour company would you suggest to check with.

We like to see the island, check out certain beaches, learn about their culture. Thank you in advance! :D

I'd recommend booking an island tour with Cameron Reid. He has "standard" tours of the island, but will customize according to the amount of time you want to spend and how you prefer to spend your day. Our driver, Herman, took us to Harrison's Cave, Gun Hill Signal Station, Bathsheba (we ate lunch near there at the Round House restaurant - great views and good food!), and to a couple of beaches. He also stopped at a grocery for us so that we could pick up some beverages and local hot sauce. As he drove, he gave us the history of the areas he was driving through and talked a bit of his life on Barbados. We had a great time. Typically it is $25 pp for a 4 hour tour, but we went almost 6 hrs for $125 for 4 people. Here is Cameron's website:
