goldfada Posted March 7, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2016 On the standard blackjack tables on Regal Princess in February, blackjacks were paid 6-5 on the $5 minimum table, but 3-2 on the $10 tables. Dealers always hit soft 17 with continuous shufflers on all tables. There was also a "Fun 21" table with rules similar to Spanish 21. On that table, dealers hit soft 17 and shuffled the eight-deck shoe manually.
topdog47 Posted March 7, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted March 7, 2016 Thanks for the info- Continuous shuffler is the worst - if you are a serious player.
TNTLAMB Posted March 7, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 7, 2016 Thanks for the info- Continuous shuffler is the worst - if you are a serious player. Depends........ If you use a counting strategy - yes, if you play basic strategy - maybe. Depending on whether they are using a King (4 decks and an elevator/shelf system) or one of the eight deck systems the house advantage actually declines by 0.034 percent with the king and by .014 percent in an eight deck game. The problem is the game speeds up by 20% so you have to adjust your strategy accordingly. Not to mention poor players don't screw you up. HOWEVER, on a cruise ship (I've not played on the regal but have on other Princess ships) they atmosphere is a little looser compared to Vegas. Dealers on the whole hate the auto-shufflers. By not having the time to shuffle they have less mental breaks, but also don't have time to interact with their players which really hurts their tips. We frankly have had pretty good luck slowing the game down by taking advantage of that fact (and the looser atmosphere) Our winning are actually pretty good (or loosings not as painful.) Now if you are a counter, I'd learn craps.....................
