BabsM Posted October 12, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2005 We are scheduled to sail on the Sun in March 2006. One of the new ports of call is Santo Tomas de Castilla, Guatemala. Has anyone been there? Any advice for us? We are families with adults and grade school age children. What would be the best shore excursions? Is the area safe? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
Zeno Posted October 12, 2005 #2 Share Posted October 12, 2005 Shore excursions are not posted on the NCL website yet (Tinkerbelle has asked NCL and they should be posted in November). Unfortunately Guatemala has had some crime problems (state department advisory). I would not let that keep me on the ship but it is going to make me cautious about deciding what to do there. (We are on the Jan 28 cruise.) If I get any more Guatemala excursion type info, I will post it here.
richtersl Posted October 12, 2005 #3 Share Posted October 12, 2005 Search the Holland America (HAL) forum. They've been stopping at the port for a while now. Folks there can help you.
