hunter6009 Posted October 13, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 13, 2005 I've started researching prices for a Sept. 06 Carnival cruise and it seems that no matter what website, or TA I check, they are all very similar in price within a few $. When we did price hunting for our Disney cruise, prices were all over the place. The price we ended up with was almost $1000 less than booking directly through Disney. Where can I find a Carnival deal? Is this cruise line "what you see is what you get"? Thanks:)

ocngypz Posted October 14, 2005 #3 Share Posted October 14, 2005 Agents are not allowed to advertise discounted Carnival pricing. Pick up the phone and call a reputable travel agent. Group rates will not necessarily get you a lower rate either.
jetskier Posted October 14, 2005 #4 Share Posted October 14, 2005 hunter6009, You wont find much difference these days between Carnivals site and others as they now have a rule that you cannot show a discounted price. Dave
bsdmhutch Posted October 14, 2005 #5 Share Posted October 14, 2005 Sometimes you have to call the TA and ask. You may get a lower price than they are allowed to advertise or give you online. The TA that Cruise Critic uses for their group cruises has other great deals as well. And yes, a group cruise gets you even more. On our Conquest cruise next October (there is still availability) we are getting a room credit, party and some other stuff.

Where can I find a Carnival deal? Is this cruise line "what you see is what you get"? Thanks:) When booking w/Carnival I have to be persistent when looking for discounts. My experience is some TA's w/Carnival will be very helpful in looking-up the discounts offered.. some not. I ask for previous cruiser discounts, family discounts, military discounts, cabin/category specials and finally "exactly" what discounts do you have? I'm looking for the best price available. If, I get one who doesn't "really" take the time to look then I thank them, hang-up and call back until I get one who's willing to go the extra mile. It usually works. At times, it can be time consuming/frustrating but is usually worth the savings. Good luck!
