chajec Posted October 14, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 14, 2005 We are leaving in a few weeks out of Miami on the Radiance of the Seas. We will be getting into Miami a day early on Saturday and wanted to go watch the Saturday night departures of the cruise ships. We will have a rental car. Where is the best place to see them leaving from, is there anywhere up close ? Is there anywhere in the Port of Miami that we can drive to to see them all leaving? Thanks for you input. I'm not familiar with the Port of Miami to know where the best land vantage point is, but you can watch ships depart on line at http://herald.com, scroll down left side to "web cams", click, then click on "Wachovia Financial Center". The Majesty is in port today. Saturday & Sunday are good days to go to the site. The RCI pier is at the right end of the bridge in the foreground. Enjoy your cruise!:D
setcarp Posted October 14, 2005 #4 Share Posted October 14, 2005 The road to Miami beach has a little exit and you can sit on the shoreline opposite of the cruise port. Take the exit for Parriot Jungle Island and then go toward the helicopter place. It is nice to see the sail away from the shore. This shot is taken from that same spot. http://community.webshots.com/photo/319758422/319993770HGsrOc
TrentS Posted October 14, 2005 #5 Share Posted October 14, 2005 The best places are Watson Island - MacArthur Causeway/I-395, opposite Parrot Jungle... http://www.parrotjungle.com/ And South Pointe Park at the bottom of South Beach. There's also a great restaurant there called Smith & Wollensky where you can have dinner and watch the parade of ships leave... http://www.smithandwollensky.com/LOC-MiamiBeach-Hours.asp

I usually start out at the park off of McArthur Causeway then move down to this area.
