ajoneen Posted March 28, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 28, 2016 Anyone know if my non concierge family can hang out with me the last morning in my suite? Im planning on sleeping late(er)and having breakfast there, can they join me? Also Im trying to set up car service pick up. Have any idea what time to tell them? If I get off the ship at 9am, go through customs and pick up booze, Im thinking 9:45ish. Maybe tell them 10 to be safe? This car service (HappyLimo) has a 15 minute window then they leave. moki'smommy Posted March 28, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 28, 2016 (edited) You are welcome to entertain anyone you wish in your concierge suite at any time you choose. You can order as much food for continental breakfast as you wish. You must vacate the suite with all your belongings by 9am. Your non-concierge family/friends will have to be out of their cabins by 8 with all their stuff. Where they go is their choice--they can go to your suite, they can go to the pool deck for hot breakfast, whatever. Room service will not bring you hot food on the last morning. The concierge staff will escort you past any line waiting to disembark the ship, but once you step off the ship the special handling that you paid for is over. I suspect that you'll be ready to meet your car service well before 10. One can never exactly predict how long the Customs line will be. We've had lines of 5 minutes and lines of (literally) 3 1/2 hours....but that was in Puerto Rico. Normal is under 30 minutes. 10:00 car pick up is more than safe. If you are ready earlier, you can always phone them and let them know you are ready when they are. Drivers have been known to park at McD's and wait when they arrive early! packyourpixiedust Posted April 1, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 1, 2016 In February, unless you left the ship at 7:45, the concierge hosts were not escorting that class of guests off the ship. We attempted to leave around 8:45 and waited in the LOOONG lines with everyone else.

We attempted to leave around 8:45 and waited in the LOOONG lines with everyone else. Just to be clear, did you wait in a LONG line on board the ship in order to have your card swiped or did you wait in long lines in the terminal in order to claim luggage and go thru Customs? I've had some lines on the various ships, but they typically moved very quickly except when Customs had issues and had backed things up to the extent that people couldn't even get off the ship. Except on those occasions, the line to get off the ship has been very minimal and moved quite quickly, and that is the only line where the Concierge staff has any influence. We typically don't book concierge, but I have seen the staff bring people down and cut the line with them. Odd that this didn't happen in February. However, once that card is swiped, the line in the terminal may be minimal or horrible. DCL has nothing to do with it at that point. Yes, I've been held on board for 5 minutes while the congestion in the terminal cleared. In those cases, as soon as we were allowed to "swipe out," we proceeded into the terminal with no delay until the Customs line. But this was a very minimal line that formed during that few minute delay. The times that we've had issues and long lines, they have always been caused by Customs. They indicated that unless we left before 8, they couldn't walk us down to cut the line.
