tmorr01 Posted April 10, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2016 We are on Nautica out of Southampton June 13th. The first stop is Vlissingen, Netherlands and we are interested in trying to go to Brugges. Oceania has an excursion but we want to just have a free visit there. There is a ferry from Vlissingen, Westerhavenweg to Breskins, Veerhaven where you can catch a bus to Brugges. Does the ship dock in Westerhavenweg as well? If not, can I get from the ship to the ferry easily?
MobyandDick Posted April 12, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2016 Sorry, there are 2 ports (Vlissingen - Oost and Vlissingen Buitenhaven) along the coast of Vlissingen and to be honest, both are really focused on industrial shipping/transport and I do not see any terminal (which would be the logical stop). There is a website of the ports of Vlissingen (which also includes the port of town Terneuzen): zeelandseaports.com. There is no schedule published of visiting cruise ships as the ports do not receive a lot of cruise ships during the year. Does Oceania not know the address? Maybe a mail sent via the provided website, again sorry not being able to find out more. A drive by car from Vlissingen to Brugge would take aproximity 1 hour and 20 mts. Public transport from Vlissingen train station to Brugge is a little less than 2 hours one way. You can look that up via Dutch official local transport website 9292.nl and there is an English language button. Type Vlissingen station and Brugge Belgium. Schedule is loaded until month of May now. Hope this little helps you a little?
