It's quite easy. You get a card delivered to your cabin during the cruise which shows the usual and customary tips for the various individuals. You get a chance to accept that amount or adjust it. You also can add to the usual amount if you wish. By the time you get the card, you will know what kind of service you are getting, so you can make an informed decision. We usually end up adding some $ to the normal. It charges to your shipboard account and at the end of the cruise you get cards which you can give to the various people in envelopes. You can also stuff a few bucks extra with the card in the envelope if you like.
