spin147 Posted April 12, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2016 Hello friends, We are planning on booking a Disney Cruise for 2018. We are a family of 4, 2 kiddos (3 and 5). We are looking at the following dates... 3/31/18-4/7/18 OR 6/16/18-6/23/18 Which one might be least expensive? My husband and I both work for the school district, so one is our spring break and one is when we get out of school. We need one that leaves out of Port Canaveral. Any tips, advise would be APPRECIATED. I am so excited!
jwalk03 Posted April 12, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2016 Mar/Apr is likely to be cheaper than June. Not everyone has Spring Break at the same time, where as Summer Break is pretty much the same for most.
slightlysilly Posted April 12, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2016 I think the end of school year cruise might be cheaper, but not by much. In 2018, Easter and Passover falls on the same week which means that all of the public schools in Long Island and New York City will be off school that week (MILLIONS of children). Your spring break week will be at a premium. Cost-wise and crowd-wise I'd go for the end of school year trip.
moki'smommy Posted April 12, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 12, 2016 Given that summer 2017 was just released today, you're going to be waiting a while. At either time the ships will be full (so the crowd theory is moot). You'll just have to wait and see prices. In the past, April has been cheaper than June. Again, you can wait and compare prices OR book April as soon as those dates are released and then check the June prices when those are released. If June is cheaper, you can cancel April with no penalty as it will be long before the cruise.
