cherub44 Posted October 17, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2005 I know there are a couple of tours that include a short stop at the Butterfly Farm. I have a few questions I'm hoping someone has answers to since I haven't been able to find any info about it using search. 1) Is there a way for us to see the Butterfly Farm outside of a tour? 2) Is it reachable by cab? 3) How far from the tender area is it, and approx. how much would cab fare be? Thanks for your help!
cherub44 Posted October 18, 2005 Author #2 Share Posted October 18, 2005 Two of our group in August did that tour by cab. They paid $85 to be taken to the butterfly farm at a destination called Cedar Cabins, which is on the road that leads to the cave tubing site (about 38 miles west of Belize city). They said it was great. The place also has a large swimming pool, tennis courts, and a botanical trail. Entrance fee to the farm was somewhere around $8 per person. They went outside Terminal One and found a ladies taxi service that was very nicely managed. Oh, and you can bargain - Belizeans, we found out, love bargaining. Did they pay $85 one way or round trip?
