Glory - Carnival excursion- do you skip the tender in Belize?

We are going on the Barrier Reef snorkel excursion through Carnival. I have seen on their excursion reviews that the excursion leaves directly from the ship and so you get to skip the 20 minute tender ride to port. Has anyone done this and can verify that this is true?
