I always thought that 1A to 1C cabins were more expensive than the 2A - 2D. So my question is: why would a 2A GTY cabin be more expensive than a 1A? The 1A is $100 less while the 1C is $180 less.

Difficult to explain why it makes sense. Perhaps Celebrity is thinking that with the GTY, you might wind up in a higher category, so they feel it's worth more.

 

Frankly, if the 1A is $100 less ? I'd go for the 1A, and forget about the GTY.

Andy, I was thinking along the same lines as you.

 

I already have a cabin and when I booked, the GTY for a 2B was the cheapest and asked if i could upgrade to a 2A. The price difference then btw the 2A and 1C was $400 total . I was just surprised to see this type of pricing.
