My "free" cruise on msc divina

I will try to give as much detail as I can. I was awarded a "free" cruise from a local casino, this was for an inside cabin. I upgraded to fantastica balcony for my DH for our anniversary.

We stayed at Intercontinental great rate Hotwire $118.00 plus taxes.

I had a groupon for dinner at Farfalle-easy 5 minute walk form hotel. We thought the food was excellent (obviously Italian).

We arrived at pier before 2:00 checked in luggage & walked right on ship,I like how NCL does embarkation-lots of fanfare, music, etc.{at least that's how it was the last time I cruised with them); nothing here just like RCCL no fanfare. Embarkation very quick & cabin available. Met cabin steward immediately & went to explore ship.

Went to kiosk swiped credit card(very easy).

Ship-This ship is beautiful & spotless! I do not know why people are complaining about this cruise line/ship. The information about this line is available for everyone- do your research & you'll know what to expect. They time the shows perfectly with dinner without you felling rushed-time in between to have a drink, wander the ship, etc.

Everyone we came in contact with that worked for MSC was very polite.

Food- this is subjective, I never had anything inedible, when we asked for additional food we received no problem.Once our waiter realized my DH wanted soda with dinner he had one for him each night for dinner(no charge).

The pizza & pasta was excellent & we found the buffet more than adequate.

Warm milk as well as cold for coffee.

We had sit down breakfast & asked nicely to sit with people who spoke English- again

our request was granted without issue.

We had late seating n Villa Rosa- parade with baked Alaska & Italian night

Lobster night we asked for 2 tails each, no problem and we were asked if we wanted more.

Cabin-we asked for mini bar to be removed so we can use the refrigerator & our steward emptied it immediately. He always asked us if we needed anything & if everything was ok.

Entertainment-shows were very good & each bar/lounge always had something going on.

They had your typical belly flop contest, karaoke, quest game, newlywed game, etc.

We did not do any excursions with the cruise line.

I did all our excursions independent of MSC. If anyone wants info on the resort for the day we did in Jamaica, private beach club we went to in Cozumel or the Sting ray snorkel, starfish excursion in Cayman islands, please let me know.

Casino- As I mentioned with my "Free" cruise I was told my DH & I would get free drinks while gambling.

I introduced myself to the manger & asked how to receive this-he was not informed of this perk.

Once I straightened this with him all seemed good until I tried to order a drink. Needless to say MSC definitely needs to work this out- I did get my drinks each night but it was always an issue.

The manger did give me a free bottle of wine midway through the cruise-my choice of any bottle. I don't know why.

All in all I would definitely cruise with MSC again-I have been on RCCL & have experienced crew members that were not exactly friendly & helpful-quite the opposite.

My attitude is be polite to people initially & they will usually do the same.

The rude people we encountered were fellow passengers Not the crew.

Last I would like to say these thoughts are my opinion and based on my experience,I hope I didn't ramble on & please ask any questions,I will do my best to answer.

Thank You for your review. Where did you get the free cruise from? We usually deal with Caesars or MGM. I tried to find more info about the casino club on MSC but not very few out there.

Thanks for your review gamblin!!! The casino loyalty program is fairly new,,,many of us here never knew the program even existed until a fellow passenger was awarded a discount coupon for her play in the casino. After some research we did track down the information,,,:https://www.msccruisesusa.com/en-us/Cruise-Information/On-Board/MSC-Casino-VIP.aspx

I signed up for their MSC Voyagrs club and after a few days they emailed me with my #.

The did give me a certificate for 30% off a future cruise & 100.00 free play in the casino.

The catch is I need to book within 2 onths & sail within 9 months.

Not sure if I can take off from work-we'll see.

Yes,,,that's exactly what a fellow cruiser received as well minus the $100.00 free play. Good to see MSC adding this perk,,,Lord knows I've dropped enough of money in that casino!!:(

Hi Shukapaw-we went to Jewel Dunn's River Beach Resort & Spa through Reosorts for the day. We booked online, left a deposit and paid the balance when we arrived. It is AI Adults only & included transfers to from the ship.

We went to Nachi Cocom- I've been there before. My DH tought it was great! $55.00 each

All drinks and lunch. If you're looking for a quiet setting I would recommend. Beach a little rocky and they have a pool wih swim up bar.
