Can anyone tell me if I can do a Mykonos beach excursion with vision of the sea then have time to walk in hora for a couple of hours. Would love to see the old town and a beach

Walking the town and going to the beach sounds easy, I'd recommend checking out the Greece Ports forum for excursion discussion. Go to Europe in the Ports of Call forum, then sub-forum: 'Mediterranean -Eastern & Western', then to 'Greece Ports'. You will find threads such as this one: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2320660, or you can do a Search. :)

You can definitely do it. Just choose one of the beach clubs closer to Hora. The biggest challenge in Mykonos is that there are like 5 taxis on the whole island and you can wait - literally - hours for one. So rent a car, choose somewhere where you can walk easily or arrange a private driver.

ABSOLUTELY YES! There are buses to every corner of the island. They are cheap and very punctual, operated by Ktel, the local bus company. Just follow the signs to Fabrika bus terminal. I went to Paradise Beach, stayed there for three hours, and then a loooong walk around downtown Mykonos. Plenty of time if your ship departs by 6pm.

The cruise shuttle drops you at the old port, from there you must walk to Fabrika, but you can go just across town, pass through the "Little Venice", and the windmills, with that, you already had a small peak of the town. You can go to the beach, and then come back for the rest.

In Mykonos, we did a tour of a smaller island called Delos. Although it was a ship's tour (& all of our other ones were terrible), this tour was BRILLIANT!!! So much knowledge from our guide & so much history.

Then we had a few hours to explore Mykonos... & of course, eat a lot too!!

We were on vision last week (had a great time) and did paradise beach and the old town. Just make sure you are up early the first tenders from 7.00 are empty after 9.30 you have to obtain a tender ticket which means about 20-30 minute wait.

The bus to paradise beach runs every 30 minutes are is main bus 1.5 euro or private mini-bus 2 euro each, at paradise beach, approx. 10-15 minutes there are toilets, changing, shops, bars and restaurants and great sunbeds with umbrellas for free. We had left after lunch and still had time to walk round the old town and try out some greek food.

Do you remember where do they usually hand out the tender tickets on Visions of the Seas? We are going on the Greek Isle cruise on Visions in the beginning of Oct. We are currently trying to coordinate with a few others on the ship to obtain the tickets for the earliest tender when we get to Kotor. Thanks in advance for your help! :)
