Just make sure to leave Miami EARLY on embarkation day. Don't chance getting there later. There was a horrific thread earlier this week about a family who completely missed their cruise because of terrible traffic on I95 from Miami to Fort Lauderdale.

You will definitely want to be on the road by 11AM at the latest.

Enjoy your trip!

I heard it is a 30 minute drive. So the road can get quite congested? Hopefully I can get early embarkation. Thanks for the tip

It's about 25 miles from Miami to Fort Lauderdale. Normally 30-45 minutes depending when you leave, but accidents are unpredictable and can throw a wrench in your commute. If you're taking a taxi, they'll know how to get off the highway and take side roads if need be but you should still plan to be in Fort Lauderdale early.

In the aforementioned thread, I think the guy was driving, he got stuck in traffic caused by several accidents, he left Miami very late in the afternoon, and made a couple of unplanned stops. So, a bunch of factors which went into his family missing their entire cruise [emoji33]

Embarkation usually begins around 10:30am, with boarding starting around 11am provided there are no issues, so that's the time you should aim for. [emoji16]

Probably hope to leave Miami around 10am, and I hope to have early boarding, and onboard for lunch at Giovarnis by 12 12.30

thanks

You know I am haha! I tried to go to the homecoming event earlier this year but, I'm a passholder too, and I still live in Florida, so I felt a little weird about paying $200 for dinner and bowling. Maybe next time.

Great to see another alumni on CC! :)

I dragged my husband to it. :) I had just gotten some extra money from work and I took it as a sign to go. Lol! It was ok for their first time. I think it'll be better in the future...I'll look for you over on the Association page so we aren't hijacking this thread with WDWCP talk that no one else understands. Lol!
