Grabbing a taxi at port in La Romana

We are going to La Romana in July and have reserved a tour at the Cigar Factory. We have to get a taxi to get there. Does anyone have any tips on securing one at the port and keeping it for the duration? It would be about a 2 hour excursion. We do not speak spanish and are a little concerned about safety and negotiating rates.

My Wife and I are planning to do the same and have contacted TDG to arrange a tour. Other than just trying to grab a taxi at the Port, I thought of trying to call ahead to one of the taxi companies. I am interested in hearing about your experience and anything you may have learned from taking this tour on your own. Hope you had a good time.

We are hoping to do the same in June. I'm too wondering about the availability of taxis in port (and whether they can accommodate 6 of us) - or arranging transportation ahead of time. :)
