Golfers... Need an opinion

We will be taking a Panamal Canal Cruise in the fall. Has anyone played either Cozumel Country Club or The Links at Safehaven? We played Mahogany Run last year in St. Thomas and loved it. How do these courses compare? For anyone who has played both, what is your favorite? Does Coral Princess do the longest drive competition? Thanks for the answers...

Sorry, haven't played either one, but we are planning on playing Mahogany Run this December. I'm really looking forward to it - my son is getting tired of hearing me talk about it.
From the looks of the courses you're inquiring about, the view looks better at The Links at Safehaven, but snorkeling is better in Grand Cayman than in Mexico. So if I had to make a choice, I would pick Cozumel Country Club (we like to snorkel, too, so thats my reasoning!)

Steve I believe my better half has played both. His is currently out of town on business, back the end of the week. I'll ask him to reply when he gets back. That is of course we can find this thread again - sure wish the search function was working.

I'll tell you how my husband ended up resolving this very, very serious vacation dilemma our Canal cruise.

He went diving in Cozumel and snorkeling in Grand Cayman. And he ran up a huge bill on the Golf Sim.

Sorry I can't help you, but enjoy.

We have played twice at both courses. Cozumel is not worth the money($160.00 and it does not include rentals), a lot of beach (sand traps) and it is very long and hot, hot, hot. Do the Dolphin Discovery in Cozumel then hop over to Carlos and Charlies and just sit back and enjoy the scenery.

In Grand Cayman, it is a nice course for the money and they have it down pretty good with the large groups off of the ships. We always try to get off first and we usually will take a cab back for a little shopping before everyone else gets in.

Any questions feel free to email me and I will try to answer them ASAP. We were just on this trip in January and November.

Hey Steve,
I've played both the Cozumel course and the Links at Safehaven and enjoyed them both. Neither course has the elevation changes that you get at Mahogany Run nor are there any holes that can really compete with Mahogany Run's drop dead gorgeous ones (like the par 3 gouged into the side of the cliff.

Of the two, the Cozumel course had, in my opinion, more "premium" conditions. Great tee boxes, fairways and greens. Lots of water that comes into play though - use your straight clubs. Definately an enjoyable course to play although it's gotten a little too pricey for me lately ( I last played it 2 or 3 years ago).

Safehaven is a fun golf course to play. Not as much trouble as Cozumel but course conditions were very good. Most times you can grip it and rip it here and not get into too much trouble.

Hope that helps.

Thanks,
Rich

The best of both world's. I usually hit into the water but I don't know if I would dive in to get it.Are there any sunken golf carts to look at?
