Galaxy Itinerary change 6/21 and 7/12

Does anyone know anything about Messina? Galaxy just changed the itinerary to stop there instead of Taormina on the 6/21 and 7/12 cruises.

Messina is north of Taormina..I'd estimate driving time ~ 30-40 minutes. It's a port town with lots of ferries arriving from/leaving to mainland Italy as well the Aeolian Islands. While Messina is an "everyday" town that most visitors just pass through, Taormina is more of a tourist destination - a beautiful resort town perched part way up a mountain with views of Mt Etna.

 

I've seen cruise ships anchored off Taormina - not sure if you'd be docked or tender in Messina but as it's a port I guess it's possible that the ship would dock.
