benanjerry Posted July 30, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 30, 2016 Hi! I posted this question on the boards of the island involved, but have had no response so am hoping some of you might weigh in based on your experiences. I am booked on a photography tour led by a professional photographer. I am comfortable with tipping for most types of guided tours (driver, tour leader), but in this instance since it is such a specific activity lead by a professional, what would be appropriate? I’m assuming a larger than usual tip since we will be benefiting from his suggestions (it’s not a class like dive certification, but still…). Perhaps a certain % of the cost of the tour if it is a great experience? I know many of you loathe talking about tipping but I have not found this addressed anywhere else. Thanks in advance! mmckm Posted July 30, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 30, 2016 i would wait and make a decision once your excursion is finished and if you enjoyed it and think he gave you a great experience, then tip what you are comfortable with. I would never make a decision before a tour or anything till it is over.
