sue d. miller Posted May 15, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 15, 2004 When you check in at the pier, they tell you that you are upgraded. When you go to the new cabin, tell the cabin steward that you were upgraded from cabin#.Also it's a good idea to go to your old cabin, and let the cabin steward know that you were upgraded to the new cabin, and give him the new cabin#. Luggage has been known to show up at the old one. spongerob Posted May 15, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 15, 2004 How could this possibly happen? Doesn't everyone obsessively check their Cruise Personalizer 18 times a day during the week before the cruise, looking for that last-minute fantastic upgrade? We've been informed in advance of an upgrades, even if it was just a couple days before sailing. I guess that last-minute upgrades could happen, but would be the exception, not the rule. I've noticed that the sign stating, "The ship is sailing full and we regret that no upgrades are possible" is always on display, whether or not the ship is truly filled. CruiseFever Posted May 15, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted May 15, 2004 No, that's not what I mean I mean has anyone gone to embarkation and said "Hey I'd like a suite now" and they said "Ok, we have one" (unlike this sign) What then? Has this happened? I see this sign at embarkation or on the Pursers desk all the time...what does it really mean? Get it? Spicey477 Posted May 15, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 15, 2004 In regards to upgrades, and either anticipating one or not, I read on a very old post (one of the first pages) that you could find out how full the ship was on uniglobe.com. I checked today and didn't see anything on that site that showed how full a ship was. I am interested in going on the CP in Aug/Sept and they don't have it on the list, but I just checked another ship/sailing to see if they had the info on how full it was. Is this just old information, am I looking in the wrong spot?, or is there a new site that has this? Thanks
Geema Posted May 15, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 15, 2004 As far as I know - Princess does not upgrade at the pier. They will take your name on a list after boarding and will contact you if a room is available (at a price). You have to indicate you will pay for the upgrade. Hope this clears it up.
