Live poker is not offered on ships. It's surprising how many people ask about this in the casino. The offer the usual table games, lots of slots and video poker. The casino is quite large. Some of the tables are a little close together. In all other respects the casino is quite spacious.

Don't be too disappointed. Poker is a very hard game to manage, and really doesn't fit very well with the requirements of a shipboard casino. I asked a pit critter about this once, and he gave me a long list of reasons why poker likely will never appear on a ship. It requires extra staff and space, plus the constraints of having to shut down upon reaching ports makes it difficult to run a game. They also do not want to create an environment that would attract "sharks".

If you can find it, Ian Maxtone-Graham's "The Only Way To Cross" has some interesting stories of the problems that professional gamblers caused in the glory days of ocean liners.

My fiance and I played slots every night on our cruise last week and did NOT learn our lesson. The slots did not pay out much AT ALL!! Pretty much lost our money every night except for the last, when the Craps table heated up for a few hours before going very cold again.

The casino is laid out nicely, stretching out from the starboard side to the port side. Largest floating casino?? I believe it! Beware though, it WILL take your money.
