3 adults in cabin Cheers and DOU

One of us has the Drinks on Us card comped from the casino, the other two want Cheers. Do we still have to all 3 buy Cheers? I am thinking the answer is yes, but thought I would throw this out there to the experts. My last cruise (which was my first cruise) I earned the DOU on day 2 on the Valor, but already had paid for Cheers so it wasn't really a bonus. The host did end up paying for steakhouse selections in the MDR on 2 of the remaining evenings and sending cookies to the cabin, which was appreciated.

I've talked to the players club and they said I would have DOU waiting, but if my 2 traveling companions want Cheers I will still need to buy it also - correct?

You knew the answer but what you might not have know is you can't combine the DOU and Cheers. AS in when you hit your cheers limit of 15 drinks you can't get additional drink on your DOU. The enhanced cheers package does include there things like coffee, milkshakes, and waters. Also, Cheers is good anywhere on the ship.

Just a suggestion but if you do buy the Cheers talk to the casino host and thank him/her for the DOU and decline it based on Cheers. You might get comp the steakhouse again.

Thanks - that is good advice about thanking the casino host but declining. Wasn't looking to "combine" the two - I can't imagine a circumstance under which more than 15 alcoholic beverages in one day would be a good decision for me!! I guess I'll be buying Cheers for all of us! Even with way less than 15, it is still a good value.
