My very quick getaway on the Getaway!

I do have some more pictures, but my laptop is acting up and keeps locking up on me. I will post a few more from my PC tomorrow night. I have some of the water slides, pool area, casino... a few of the pay restaurants...

But for tonight I will add some final thoughts.

We never really met our room steward. He didn't introduce himself, and while we saw him a few times, he didn't speak to us much at all. He also did not do turn down service, and the second day he didn't even give us two fresh towels. It was a little odd. He must have meant to but forgot, because he replaced one, then we found the dirty one that was not replaced left on the bed. Just sort of weird. I don't need much, and like I said this was a quick trip so we didn't care, but a week of that would have been annoying.

Dining is different on NCL than other lines that I have been on. I actually prefer it in NCL. You waiter/waitress is basically there to take your order and bring your food. No small chat, no need to use names/recognize people, no singing/dancing. They did a great job of being perfectly attentive, but nothing extra. That works for me. Folks who are used to the waitstaff acting like family before the end of the cruise, well you will not enjoy NCL dining.

This class of ships has a feature called the Waterfront. Cool idea. On the outside promenade, they have comfy chairs and bars/restaurants. Nice to eat on the deck so close to the ocean. We enjoyed this area.

Overall, I really enjoyed this ship, and am looking forward to a week or more on one of the away class ships.

I am happy to try and answer any questions should anyone have any!

Happy sailing all!

So this was sort of odd... this restaurant was basically an extension of the casino. There were some panels as dividers, but you might as well be sitting in the casino....you can't really tell from this pic, but you will see what I mean when/if you are on the ship...

Thank you for doing this review and I really appreciate the pictures. Did you go to the buffet? If so, how was the crowd?

Hi Miamichile77,

We did go to the buffet. I thought it was fine. I could get to things, sometimes had to wait for others a bit, but not bad, and we always found a table. I think some of that is due to the buffet being open much later than what I am used to on other ships. I think it was open until 11 pm, pretty sure... also, since there are SO many options for food, I think the buffet isn't as crowded as I have experienced on other ships/lines. I liked the layout, pretty easy to navigate I thought. All my opinion of course...
