The original concept was that each "Navigator" was to be personalized for the guest's demographics. Kids would get a Navigator that had kids' activities, teens, adults etc.

It was one of the many innovations that would make DCL different from the rest. It didn't survive past the concept stage but the name did.

 

Correct. And they did eventually come out with a kid's Navigator which covered the scheduled kid activities for the entire cruise, but that died out too.

 

The "personalized" concept only appeared in the name and the early advertisements.

Interestingly enough, they were a full six pages on the Magic this past cruise.

 

From what I've read the trial may be over but whether it has just reverted while they evaluate it I guess only time will tell.
