Ron Jon or Radisson in Cape Canaveral??

Help! We're trying to decide where to stay 1 night pre-cruise for our Glory cruise in June (yes, I know its early but I like to plan ahead). From what I've read on the boards I've narrowed it down to the Ron Jon or the Radisson at the Port.

We stayed at the Raddison and the suites were huge and (I think) only $30 more than a room. We easily slept 8 adults and 3 kids in 2 suites.

The breakfast was good and dinner ok.

The free parking was a nice bonus. The shuttle ran smoothly. We were the 1st group to leave because we were a wedding party.

I have read on the boards of people who did not like this hotel but we had a nice experience. I travel frequently and would stay here again.

Have fun! We had a great time on the Glory.

We stayed there for our pre-cruise. We had a rental which we picked up at the airport and dropped off at the office which is attached to the Radisson (I think it was AVIS, somebody correct me on that if necessary.) But its not far from the Port and they have AVIS shuttles and Radisson shuttles going back and forth to the Port. Loved the pool area, has a waterfall and eatery outside. They had a great looking sunday Brunch too.

I would stay at the Ron Jon Resort. If you want to see the beach this is the only way. The food at the Hotel is better, you are closer to the port. Probablycould walk if in good shape, the pool is 100% better.

I have stayed at both spend the little extra and stay at Ron Jons. It is the differece between a crusie and Sandals.

Like both but let's face it Sandals really are nicer.

I have to vote for Radisson at the Port.. fast food nearby.. good seafood buffet (with discount), great pool area, free shuttle, secure parking during the cruise and really close to the port. If you don't wnat to wait for their shuttle when you disembark cab fare is about $6! Ron Jon's might be okay if you want a "condo" type accommodation but the rooms /suites at Radisson are huge and they have great bar and food right there.

We sailed Glory March 2005 and stayed at the Radisson. Booked a "King Suite" for $163 from their online reservations. The check in was swift and the room was HUGE. (Rm 216). The living area had a small kitchenette with table and chairs. A sofa. coffee table. desk and a big TV.

The bedroom had french doors King bed. Big 2 person Jacuzzi tub. a big glass shower. regular tub (seperate from shower) abig TV and lots of room.

And it included the breakfast buffet which was a good warmup for Lido deck breakfast.

We did not use the parking (which I think was included in our "package") or the shuttle, but it did look to be well run.

We never used the pool and regret it because it looked amazing.

We had no trouble finding places to shop and driving to the Port was very easy. Really enjoyed waking up and seeing the Ship from the Hotel.

Others in our group had smaller less expensive rooms and were very satisfied. Also we had their buffet on arrival night and thought it was quite good.

Hope this helps anyone going on the Glory. We had a Great Cruise.

We stayed at the Radisson for one of our cruises. Unfortunately they also had a huge wedding group also staying there the night before the same cruise. They took over the dining room, no dinner on premises for the rest. Next day they took the first two shuttles and everyone else got pushed back on shuttle times until the huge wedding party got over to the ship. We stayed at the suite and loved the huge jacuzzi tub. Thought the breakfast was overpriced for an average buffet breakfast. Friendly staff made up for these inconveniences though.

We stayed at the Radisson...great location...rooms were very large..a block from the budget rental car location (walking distance) if you want to rent a car...a block away is a gas station with a huge store for last minute necessities (we always buy water to take on the ship), on one side of the hotel is a great breakfast place called Zarcharia's...on the opposite side is another great Greek restaurant(AMERICAN FOOD AS WELL) and we had the best greek salad, feta cheese spread, and believe it or not, chicken parmesean. Both restaurants were clean and very inexpensive, especially if you are traveling with a family. We found Ron Jon's to be very over priced, but it is a very lovely hotel. Radison offers free shuttle to the ship and we absolutely enjoyed our stay.

Our group stayed at the Radisson the same night CampDaan's group did. We had a great time there, lounged by the pool all afternoon and listened to Wilbur, great entertainment. He moved into the lounge after dark and entertained there till closing. Many good restaurants along the street, as well as in the hotel. Many of us walked over to Grills on the waterfront and watched the Soveriegn of the Seas depart on Friday afternoon.

Good breakfasat in the hotel Saturday morning, and like Daan said it was fun seeing the Glory docked at Terminal 10 in the morning from the hotel. A new hotel is being built right in the way of their webcam though so it's harder to see the ships.

Here's a link to the Radisson's webcam. You can see the new hotel being built on camera, right beyond it is Terminal 10. Enjoy.

Does anyone know what the name of this new hotel is? Is it closer than the Radisson to the ships?
