Ask Your Harmony of the Seas Questions

Good day, cruisers!

Because Harmony is a new ship, I found there wasn't a lot of information on accessibility from people who have sailed her. I will be boarding her in a couple of weeks and will have plenty of time to enjoy and explore.

If you have any questions about the ship and on board accessibility, or if you just have questions about the ship, feel free to ask them and I will do my best to answer them when I return.

We are leaving from Barcelona and stopping in Palma de Mallorca and Malaga before disembarking in Fort Lauderdale. If you have questions about those, ask away! :)

I will also be on this cruise! I have MS and use a cane at home on good days, but a walker every day when I am traveling, and a wheelchair when able.

The thing I am most interested in finding out is if there are shuttles on these piers! These ships are so large than I would be exhausted if I must walk the length of the pier.

i have found that trying to get this info from the Port Authorities that operate each port is sometimes possible.

I will check into that.

Great thread btw! TY!

See what you think about accessibility in Barcelona - we found it to be one of the best/easiest places with a wheelchair we have ever seen. The subway was very easy to use and had elevators at all the stations. Also, if visiting Sagrada Familia (a must see) with a wheelchair expect to get pulled out of the line and escorted to a special entrance - with no entrance fee.

On Harmony - a report of accessible cabin door openers would be handy - whether they are same as older RCCL ships or improved. Sometimes they like to close too soon.

Reason Barcelona is far more accessible than most European cities is that it hosted the 1992 Paralymic Games. Athen also hosted the 2004 Paralympics but it's not as accessible as Barcelona.

I may take my sister on the Harmony and probably will take a scooter b/c the ship is so big, please let us know if there are any problem areas we should be aware of, I'm assuming for the shows, we can we wheeled down front

Wouldn't make that assumption as if the layout of the theater is that of the Oasis and the Allure, the wheelchair seating is just as you enter the theater. Which is actually the last row back of theater . There are steps down to the front rows. With regards to the Oasis and the Allure some people have reported being able to enter through an emergency door to get to the front row. When on the Allure Iwas told that using the emergency door to access the front wasn't an option.
