HI what I really need to know is ...We are getting on QV in Auckland and as she is late leaving port are we allowed once we have got on to get off again as we have family there and want to have dinner with them.? I read on some other boards about this and there seems to be either a yes or no.If I have know luck here I will email Cunard. Thanx Allison

We had no trouble checking my daughter in law in in Liverpool last year, and then spending the rest of the day and the evening on shore. Just so long as you get back to the ship in good time before she sails!

On QE in February this year we boarded in Fremantle at midday. We attended boat drill at 4.00pm and then went ashore for dinner with friends. We returned around 10.00pm & the ship sailed at midnight. My understanding is that you must be on board for boat drill.
