Turnip Posted November 4, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 4, 2005 For those who may be booked at the Wyndham in Miami, I received an email and a phone call yesterday afternoon (2 days before my stay) that my reservation was canceled. I booked through Priceline and they contacted me (not the Wyndham). I went online to get another hotel and there was very limited availability for less expensive hotels and no availability at the airport and downtown-I did end up booking a hotel on South Beach. If you are staying at this hotel in the future, you may want to call and check the status. The email said the following: "The Wyndham Miami Airport has informed us that they will be unable to accommodate your reservation due to damage sustained during Hurricane Wilma. They have informed us that over 100 of their rooms were damaged and they are still housing evacuees from Hurricane Katrina and many emergency team members. Because of the widespread damage to the area by the hurricanes this season, this is the situation across the area and we have been unable to locate an alternative property where we can move your reservation. We are crediting you in full for your priceline booking. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you and we certainly wish we had other options available.
