Dawn Pricing?

Recommended Posts

I'm planning on booking the 1/12/06 Dawn cruise, but had a question on pricing. I haven't been on NCL before, but with RCL and Carnival I was able to look around and find deals. This one seems to come up everywhere as $699. Did anyone find any travel agents who offer good incentives to book with them? Right now I have no reason to pick one over the other, but keep holding off thinking I will find some type of deal. Anyone mind sharing what "deals" or perks they got for booking? THANK YOU!!!!!!

NCL, along with several other cruise lines, now forbids individual agencies from "Advertising Discounts", which is why you're finding the same price everywhere.

Also just an FYI since you're brand-new to the boards. Forum rules prohibit us from naming any specific travel agencies here.

Good luck in your price shopping, and have a great cruise!!!!!!!!!! :D

I booked the Dawn for end of March. I used a travel agent I had used last year and she saved me $200. The reason I used her last year was because she returned calls promptly and was always very polite and courteous. That goes a long way with me.

This is my personal opinion but I think when booking a cruise it really pays to use a travel agent.

I got an awesome deal on the feb. eastern carribean on the Dawn. Our 2 kids are cruising FREE , in the same room. Our inside cabin cost $649 pp, 10th floor. So our 10 day cruise for all 4 of us is cheaper than our 7 day cruise was for 2 of us last year!!!!

DEALS ARE OUT THERE

My secret for getting great deals is book within a month of your sailing date. Off season of course. We don't mind a "guarrantee" as we aren't picky about which cabin we are in. Online travel agents are not allowed to discount anymore so now many are offering incentives such as free cruise insurance. The deals are still out there, you just need to do your homework and look for them.

It was $649pp plus taxes and fees. The kids free deal was taxed. The grand total for all 4 of us(in the same room) was $2,117.00. We're driving to the port of NY, so we don't even have to do airfare, what a deal!

Very true about finding the same price everywhere, however we got a GREAT deal. We had two ways of doing it.

1. My significant other lives in Toronto and the travel agents there were offering discounts even when all the TAs here in the U.S. were not offering discounts.

But we found an even sweeter deal here...

2. We called the Travel Department at the local Wholesale Bulk Food store. Now there are a few of these kinds of place and I'm not allowed to say which one, but if you make a couple of calls around, pay the membership fee (if you don't already belong to one of these places) you will find that it is WELL worth it. Our discount that we received was incredible!!!!!!!!!

(The TA in Toronto even couldn't believe our great deal and was kind enough to verify for us that everything was legit. We have kept his business card for possible future bookings and will certainly mention his name to everyone we know. While in this particular case we didn't go with him, who knows what the future holds.)
