KateV Posted November 6, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2005 We will be taking our first cruise March 2006 on the Carnival Liberty, my husband and I are taking my daughter and 5 friends (3 cabins). My question is the Empress Deck a good choice for our rooms. We have 2 interiors and 1 balcony. We are worried about the noise level since I read from past posts about deck 6 having noise problems. Hope this is the right choice for these 17 and 18yr olds, we are doing the 6 day western cruise. It was between Carnival and Royal Caribean but RC was to expensive for the teens. Any tips or thoughts would be great.........
steff613 Posted November 7, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 7, 2005 Kate, which week are you sailing? We are on the Liberty the week of the 12th and I have an 18 yo daughter who would like to be reassured she will meet some other girls so she does not have to endure her 14yo brother! mrdood Posted November 7, 2005 #3 Share Posted November 7, 2005 It is sandwiched between the upper deck (where some cruisers have complained about noise problems, and the Verandah deck. All the rooms have rooms above and below. Now with that said, that does not guarantee freedom from noise from people in the hall, if you are by elevators and high traffic areas or from some very rowdy guests :) me included, but I always send an invite to my parties to the six cabins above and below me if applicable!!! serene56 Posted November 7, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 7, 2005 We booked 7434 on the Empress deck for February 12. The reason the noise on deck 6 is its above a bar/lounge and the noise disappears after 11am the empress deck it situated between two deck sof cabins so you should not have a problem with noise. We also had a balcony above a lounge on the Victory and heard nothing all week. As for those teens. first night will be a teen meeting make sure those kids get there-- you wont be sorry.
